how do i format my 80gb drive?
i upgraded my laptop harddrive and used the old one (80gb hitachi) to a usb enclosure.... i was going to format it using the disk management utilitees in the computer management directory of winxp.
but i only "see" the recovery partition (about 4 gb).
i can't format it either...
my solution is to format it... which means putting the old hard disk back into my laptop and formating using ibm's utilities that some poster mentioned but i cannot find.
so...how do i format it?
thanks,
fred
how do i format?
Not the easiest way, but it works probably:
Re-install the old hdd in the notebook, unhide in the bios the hidden service partition, run fdisk either with an USB FDD or with the recovery CDs (after af few seconds interrupt the recovery process with ctr c: you enter dos). Then format c.
