Is Antenna a Must?

#1 Post by kenshinxue » Wed Jun 20, 2007 5:34 pm

I just ordered a new x61s 2 days ago. I saw that there are two options on the lenovo US website, ultralight + 1.4G CPU and ultralight + 1.6G CPU + Antenna. I told the sales representative that I do not use WWAN, so he configured for me a 1.6G CPU ultralight with no antenna.

Actually, I do not like the look of the antenna. But is it a must for using .11n wireless?

Could someone answer my question? Thank you! If it is a must, perhaps I should call the sales rep to check the configuration for me.

continue from my question above,

since I saw someone wrote on other forum that to use the .11n wireless, there needs to be an additional antenna.

Is the 2*3 antenna for the wireless lan? or just for WWAN?

Thanks!

Hope I could get my answer soon.

I believe they would not be the same antenna, and I also believe they are different frequencies.

The WIFI antennas are all built in, only the WWAN is external. It's a cell phone antenna.

how did you get him to do that? the rep i called won't remove the external antenna for me, saying that the screen requires it?

Guess i'm going to call a more knowledgeable rep.
