FireGL V5250 - extended desktop problems at 1680x1050

Hi, All,

I have a Thinkpad T60p (Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz, 15" FlexView display at 1400x1050). This morning, I bought a Samsung 226BW (22", 1680x1050 native resolution, 75Hz top refresh rate) to use as a second monitor with an extended desktop. I did install Samsung's latest monitor driver for this monitor.

I'm currently using the standard 15-pin VGA cable that came with the monitor and I'm getting a lot of periodic flickery lines through the display. They go away if I lower the resolution, but don't go away if I change the refresh rate (I've tried 60 and 75) or lower the color depth to 16 from 32-bit. I have tried auto syncing the display, etc., etc. I even get some flickers on the laptop display from time to time.

The real bummer is that my wife's much less expensive T43 with a Radeon X300 sends crystal clear video to this monitor. At least it's not the monitor's fault.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can get the flicker to go away? I have ordered a Thinkpad Advanced Dock and plan to try making a DVI connection. Is that going to solve my issue? Any suggestions for solving this with the analog connection?

Ok, well, "Yes" if you're talking about flickery lines horizontally across the screen. If you're talking about the whole screen flickering at once, then no. =/
