Bluetooth service hangs

Through event viewer, I've isolated my startup delay, which seems to be a problem w/ Bluetooth. The error reads:

"The Bluetooth Service service hung on starting."

Has anyone encountered this or can advise a solution?
BTW, this happens regardless if BT is on or off. And when on, BT works fine.

I would uninstall the device thru device manager and then reboot,.

Do you have Microsoft or Widcomm bluetooth stack?

not sure what stack i have, except that it runs this file: btwdins.exe

i've fixed this problem for now by changing the start up type to "manual." i can still access BT whenever i need by turning on the device.
