no-1802.com hack functionality

#1 Post by Jason404 » Thu Jun 21, 2007 1:18 pm

I am trying to upgrade an X30 to wifi.

After fitting a mini-PCI wifi card (Phillips) and the antennas in the screen, I was very disappointed to find Error 1802.

After reading up on this I am planning to use the no-1802.com hack.

I was wondering if after using this hack, would the Thinkpad wifi stuff work as it would with an authorised card, like the Wifi LED, IBM ThinkVantage utility and wifi switch??

Thanks

The card should connect and basically work, but convenience features such as LED indicators etc almost certainly wont, as they are dependent on specific ThinkPad feature support in the firmware on the IBM/Lenovo OEM versions of the WiFi card.

Cheers,
