I just received a T60 with a 100GB 7200RPM HD. I am finding that the right palm rest can get quite hot when the hard disk is working for any extended length of time. I find that it can get quite uncomfortable at times. I know this is subjective to large extent, but to give you some semi-objective standard to measure against, the right palm rest can get as hot as the adapter when the computer is on AC power, and the battery not charging.
Is this unusally hot? Have others found that their units are cooler on the right palm rest? I have found some mention of heat issues with the right palm rest in other threads, but no real complaints (unlike with the GPU!), so perhaps it is either my unit or just me.

Some people have reported this issue here however I can never tell as I'm a left-hander. I hope someone else can assist you on this issue or search around the forum for it.
Btw which OS are you using? Vista?

I'm using XP, I figure I would wait until enough time has gone by for any major issues to have been resolved before thinking about upgrading (or getting a face lift, if the more ambivalent reports are to be believed); so it is not a Vista related issue.
I've been looking around, and I have only seen a few mentions about this. I'm just trying to see if this is typical for a T60.

If you just got the system and have been busy installing your favorite programs, then it's just a matter of time before it cools down to "operating temperatures".
Good luck
