X41 wireless adapter

#1 Post by hunterbuyer » Fri Jun 22, 2007 5:14 pm

Just bought an X41 which I really like, but was disappointed to see that it didn't come with a wireless -- I've been looking at the Lenovo site and getting more and more confused--and then tried others with no luck --did find 2 on the thinkwiki site -- (the Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Mini-PCI Adapter, or the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Mini-PCI Adapter)but where to buy and which have people had better luck with. or other ideas?
thx, alan

All I can say is that I have the Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG and have had lots of problems. I think an IBM adapter would be better.

Problems in what manner/what laptop? I recently bought (via ebay) an 2915abg for my X30 and it just works perfect together w/ Access Connections.

The Atheros cards (IBM thus) are much better.
But having used an X40 with the A/B/G
And a X41 with the Intel 2915 A/B/G I only get one stripe less when I am in the garden.

Furthermore it is just as stable as the Atheros.
If you where opting for a 2100 I would say... stay away from it, but the recent 2915 and even the new pci-e A/B/G/N Cards from intel are rather decent.
