Latch on X60 tablet slightly loose?

#1 Post by aphex » Sat Jun 23, 2007 3:38 pm

The latch on my X60 tablet seems just slightly loose, so when I press down to write it settles in a little. Anyone else?

No play at all? Hmmm, mine is ever so slightly loose, so when in tablet mode if i press on it it moves down a tiny bit... Just enough to make it annoying... :(

Guess i'll have to send it in the end of july...

thx!

This is subjective to what everyone determine as 'loose'. On my X60 tablet it is a bit 'loose', but it is okay. this is due to the design of that latch which needs to work both way (in tablet and in laptop mode).

Look into the latch portion at the palmrest, if nothing is broken, it's good. (for me anyway)

it is tight for my T43 latch after years of using.
well, as the saying goes... very subjective to define "loose" for everyone preference

I actually sent my X60T in to depot because I had problems with the swivel/latch. When the laptop LCD was closed and locked, The LCD would still swivel and when it did that, it opened the latch and popped up. Very annoying.

I think I had something similar.

I added some rubber strips from the bottom of an old keyboard in each corner to fill the gap.
