Warning - Access Conn. 4.41 - still doesn't switch profiles

#1 Post by Wojtek » Sun Jun 24, 2007 3:37 pm

I have tried today upgrade to AccessConnections 4.41.
It still sucks and doesn't properly switch profiles between ethernet networks (R50e without wireless card).

Now I am using 3.82 again. This version just works without any problems.

4.41 switches between wired networks for me. Somewhat difficult to test because in most places I just have one wired network. But in one location, I have an internal network and an external network. If I unplug the internal and plug in the external, 4.41 changes smoothly. ... JDH

So, if you don't have any problems with that release, could you advice me what should I do?
Maybe should I remove all profiles before upgrade?

You could try removing the profiles. I went from 3.71 (I think) to 4.12 and then through 3 more 4.x versions up to and including 4.41. The profiles survived that. But uninstalling Access Connections and all the profiles is worth a try. ... JDH

Speaking of 4.41, I was using 4.21 and installed 4.41 today.

Is the Receive Rate missing in the Wireless Connection Status window? (the one that pops up, when you double-click on the wireless status icon in the system tray).

The Receive Rate was showing on the 4.23, but not on the 4.41.

It seems to be working for me. I also upgrade the wireless NIC to version 4.1.2.156 that was new out in the last two weeks and it seems to be working fine as well. ... JDH

Thanks for the quick reply, JD.

I have uninstalled and re-installed Access Connections, but the Receive Rate is still missing.

Here's a screenshot of the window

As you can see, I have also updated the NIC driver.

Weird.

Thanks for posting that. My screen looks the same as yours. So if something was on that screen prior to AC V4.41, then I have forgotten. So there must be a difference somewhere affecting both of us. Otherwise all is well. ... JDH

I can only ever remember seeing a single wireless data rate displayed on that panel with any version of AC I have used to date! I don't recall whether it was a Tx or Rx rate, but there was only one rate.

I think he means something like this: http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/3171 ... atuds9.jpg

That's with AC 4.23. And no, I haven't updated the NIC driver.

Paul, thanks for posting that!

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. The "Receive Rate" is not present in the 4.41.

Good to know that it's still there in 4.23. I might go back to that version, since I couldn't notice any difference with the 4.41

Cheers
