Hitachi 7200 rpm hard drive incompatible with r52?
I am trying to do a hard drive swap/clean install on my new r52.
When in insert it (properly installed in caddy etc) it goes to an error message.
Then I tried to open the drive connected to a usb adapter and it sits and clicks.
When I attach the drive to my dell no problems.
Any ideas?

This one definitely means that it's not getting enough power. It could be the port, the USB enclosure or the variance on an individual drive (I also have a Hitachi 7K60 that will not power up from USB -- I had to use a housing with an external power supply).watchtower7 wrote:Then I tried to open the drive connected to a usb adapter and it sits and clicks.

My external carry case comes with two USB connectors (to the host computer), which merge into a single connector for the carry. I have to unplug all the other USB devices and plug this two connector to have the 7K60 working.tomh009 wrote:This one definitely means that it's not getting enough power.
