Access Connections non-functional after BT or USB install

#1 Post by simonwalther » Mon Jun 25, 2007 5:18 am

I have recently bought a Windows Mobile 5 PDA. After installing the software and successfully synchronizing data, I realized that all my network functionalities were gone. I could not switch the WLAN on or off any more with Fn-F5 nor did any wired LAN connection profiles work any more. I uninstalled and reinstalled Access Connections - no effect. (I do have the latest WLAN driver.)

Eventually I restored my system with system recovery. I then tried again installing the PDA syncronizing software (Microsoft ActiveSync). All networks still worked. And only after hooking up the PDA to the USB port, followed by it installing its driver, no more network connnections would work any more.

I restored the system again and tried using the PDA with bluetooth. I had never used BT before. Once I turned it on with Fn-F5, it would install its driver (the BT chipset), and behold: Again no more networking functions. So obviously the installation of these USB related drivers somehow interferes with Access Connections.

I have read some posts about Access Connections having problems, but it was always only about WLAN problems. My WHOLE network connections are failing. Does someone have a clue how to fix that - or can point me to an article where this has already been discussed?

Thanks!
Simon

GomJabbar, thanks for the quick reply. However, I have already tried that. I have changed the path variable, but id didn't help. It is probably because: 1. I have the 2100 WLAN adapter, which is not on the list of affected hardware and 2. in my case, not only my WLAN adapter is affected but ALL network connections... :?

My experience is to always install Access Connections last, and uninstall Access Connections when upgrading any hardware that it controls. This includes LAN, WAN, WWAN, and Bluetooth. After upgrading the hardware drivers, you can reinstall Access Connections.

See following post be antera309. You may also have to repair the Winsock as the following post by kano mentioned.
