Hello all,
I just purchased a T42 with SXGA screen and it is in perfect condition. However I already see a bit of a scratch on the LCD I think is from the center mouse button. On my t21 the screen had quite a few scratches from the keyboard. I do not want this to happen on my new t42. I heard that you should add spacers between on the cover or keyboard. What about plastic keyboard covers? Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Bruce

Scratches on LCD
I have a very thin sheet of packing "foam" between the keyboard and the screen to protect my T42P. The sheet is soft and does not take much to compress. Got it from something that I received, no idea where to buy it though.
Even putting a sheet of white paper would prevent most of the scratching. You can try a microfiber cloth to remove any fingerprints or marks from the pointer.

To improve the appearance of the scratches, you can rub candle wax (cold) or Vaseline on the LCD, then buff with a cloth. This will fill in the scratches and make them less obvious.
I used a white candle with great results.
