SOLD!PLEASE LOCK!A31P(2653-R6U) WI-FI BTOOTH

#1 Post by ajkula66 » Wed Jun 27, 2007 11:17 am

OK, those who have read my posts and haven't seen me probably imagine that I've got "A31P" stamped on my forehead...or tatooed on my biceps...not just yet...maybe once I'm past #100...

Out of the same stable as the previous 2 that I've had listed here lately (first one sold, the second one died in a thunderstorm and is being used as a shell to transplant my custom 2654-CTO), in very good to excellent condition (9.5 out of 10, wear on the lid only), and as most of A31Ps that come to my house has been seriously upgraded.

Product: ThinkPad A31p 2653-R6U [change]
Operating system: All [change]

Original description: P4-M 2.0GHz(512KB), 256MB RAM, 60.0GB HDD, 15.0 UXGA(1600x1200) TFT LCD, 16x10x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Wi-Fi wireless/Modem(MPCI), Ethernet(CDC), IEEE 1394, IBM Secure Chip(TCPA), Bluetooth(CDC), TV out, Li-Ion battery, Win2000

The video chip, of course, is ATi FireGl 7800 with 64Mb RAM.

This one will come with 1Gb RAM (or more if you're willing to pay for more-up to 2Gb available) and your choice of Travelstar 80Gb/4200 or Seagate 60Gb/5400 hard disk drives.

Asking $525 firm plus reasonable shipping depending on where you are. I ship internationally and accept most payment methods.

Feel free to PM me for high-resolution pictures, or any questions or concerns that you might have.

COA is for W2K, I'm running Linux Freespire on it.

Another great machine from 'Mr. A31P" :). Nice specs and price George, good luck with the sale.

Some time next week (when some long-ago work finally gets paid for), I'll be very interested in this machine. However, I'm not competent to set up Freespire on it; learning any form of Linux has been on my must-do list for decades, it seems. Any chance you could clone your OS onto the Seagate drive for me? With a machine I'm sure works right, I should be able to get up to speed reasonably well.

Thanks.

Not only will I clone the OS, but will also provide you with a copy of it as well as a booklet on setting up Linspire/Freespire.

That pretty much settles it as far as I'm concerned. Now all I have to do is slide it past my wife...

Maybe you need to bribe her with a nice T42 like I've done with mine...

I'd rather she bribe me with a T42. Unfortunately, she seldom needs bribery to get her way.

Incidentally, I don't want to inhibit ajkula66's business here. My messages are an expression of interest, not a promise to buy. I'm serious, but I could wind up paying bills, buying something my wife considers more important, etc. If someone gets to this machine before I do, I'll just hope another one comes along soon.

There is no way you can inhibit my business here...item is considered sold, at least in my book, once the money has been received, and the customer satisfied with the unit...I've never understood your posts as anything but expressing interest...if it ends up going further than that, fine. If it doesn't, still fine. But I appreciate your honesty in letting other forum members know that you've placed no dibs on this.

I'm always open to questions...just feel free to ask.

I was sure you understood. It just occurred to me that other potential buyers might not. What can I say? It had been a long day.
