what x40 case fits this description?

#1 Post by NecessaryEvil » Sat Oct 16, 2004 10:58 am

I am buying an X40, and need a new carrying case.

I'd like something small, but a slipcase won't hold all I need it to.

here's what I want to be able to carry on a regular basis:

1. X40
2. AC Adpater
3. Spare battery (whenever I buy one)
4. Logitech MX-310 mouse and mousepad
5. retractable phone and etherenet cables
6. Kensington lock
7. 2 ink pens.

I have an Ogio Brainbucket from my T4x, it'll easily hold the X40 and AC Adapter, but it won't secure anything in the outer pocket.

Even though they are sold out atm, it seems that the Braincell and an ID messenger bag would fit your bill, at least take a look at www.tombihn.com.
(I've got that setup myself for my X40)

I decided to go with a TomBihn backpack myself... Brainbag with Braincell... Will be interesting to see if i can fit the ultrabase in the cell or if i need to store that separate...

We'll see how fast they can order... According to their webpages they have them in stock... I also ordered the snake tamer accessory for cables and other computer stuff, so it dont float around in the bag...

Don't know what size Brain Cell you got, but my X30 and ultrabase will easily fit into my Cell, although more often I carry it with the extended battery on the bottom. Nice thing about the Cell is that the pocket is made from a stretchy fabric that allos for a fair amount of accessories to be stuffed into it.

As for the Brain Bag, once while transitioning from one Axxp laptop to another Axxp laptop I was carrying both plus accessories from home to office. It's got a lot of room, but is so well designed, made and comfortable to carry. I only use mine now for major travels, but it's a real workhorse. Great choices!
