T42, Slackware 10.0...Can anybody get WEP to work?

#1 Post by blackatom1 » Sat Oct 16, 2004 2:27 pm

After lots of searching i found a project for the T42's wireless card at sourceforge (see link below). The drivers work flawlessly, but i cannot get WEP to install. Has anyone gotten WEP to work on a T42 or any other computers that might have relevance here?

I don't know how current this link is, but it may be the cause of your problem.

I use the ipw2100, works flawlessly as far as I can tell.

From the ipw2100/2200 mailing list I gather that WEP works for your adapter, WPA not yet. You need a recent kernel, try 2.6.8.1.

I have gotten WEP to work, although with gentoo and debian. What you need to do is make sure ARC4 encryption is compiled into the kernel.

I have gotten WPA to work.... sometimes. I tried WPA supplicant, and for the most part it works most of the time. A lot of the errors come from suspending and hibernating, but what wireless errors cant be caused by that? [/url]
