Was
1.66 Core Duo
1GB RAM
40GB 5400
No Fingerprint

Now
2.16 Core 2 Duo
2GB RAM
100GB 7200
Fingerprint

Everything went according to plan, no issues at all.

nice, now how much did that cost?? I'm assuming you had to do a motherboard change too?

No planar change required.

Didnt cost too much, had some parts already lying around, CPU was $240..

How do you add fingerprint to your tp?

Also, where did you find a T7400 for $240?

I asked because I have a T60 and would love to upgrade cpu to a 4Mb c2d, and my T60 doesn't come with fingerprint reader but I would love to add one to it.

transferred a fingerprint reader from my old T60

got the cpu from ebay in the uk, bargain id say £120 = $240
