Popping sound when sounds start/stop.
I've found that when sounds start or stop, there is a small but distinct "popping" noise. This didn't start immediately when I received the machine, so theoretically something I installed could be causing it (or a Lenovo software update). It is more distinct when the sound is short, like when something beeps. Try using the system tray sound volume slider which beeps when you adjust the sound. (Playing music, it is often missed when pressing play.)
Has anybody experienced this on their X61 tablet (or other X61 or x60 for that matter)? If so, how did you eliminate it? I'd like not to have to uninstall or fresh install the machine to eliminate the annoyance. Suggestions, please?

I cannot find a topic (and I searched throughly this time) that provides help with my topic, so any ideas or links to other topics would still be appreciated.
Meanwhile, I'll try playing with the battery and power settings.

Not that it really helps, but here is a similar thread regarding some T4x's.

Though I have no documentation for this, it does seem only to happen when on battery power. It probably is a power-save feature. Next time it makes itself known, I'll hunt to find if it is one of those features I can disable and post what I learned. If anybody knows how (other than running on A/C
), that would be great.
