I want to use T23 PC133 ram in a T22. Any downside?

I've searched and it seems that T22's use PC100 and T23's use PC133. Also, I've read that you can use the T23 ram in a T22 with no ill effects.

Because I have to add ram to (2) T22's and a T23. It seems that I can get ram for T23's for less than T22's. So I'll just order up a bunch of the 256mb sticks for the T23 and then also use them in the T22's.
Is my thinking correct?
Thanks,
Josh

As long as you use what is normally called "low density" 256MB PC133 modules. You can easily identify them by counting the number of memory chips on the board. There will be 16 on a 256MB module (8 per side). A "high denisty" 256MB module will have a total of 8 (4 per side).

Once you install the new memory, I would also suggest that you run a memory diagnostic program to (fairly) insure that the modules are fully functional. You can download a copy of memtest86+ from here:

Haven't priced 256MB PC100 or PC133 modules recently but I have been able to get some (high density) 512MB PC133 modules for the T23s at around $43 (shipped) from eBay. The T23 can go up to 1024MB.

Ok, so.
Low Density PC133 will work in T22 and T23.
Low Density PC100 will work in T22's.
High density PC133 can be used in T23 but NOT in T22's.
T22's can use up to (2) 256mb sticks.
T23's can use up to (2) 512mb sticks.
Does that sound correct?
Thanks a bunch.
Also, if you see any of the 512mb sticks that work in a T23 for that cheap. Let me know.

Yup.

Okay, but given the current market conditions, it might be hard to find them at that price ($43 shipped) on eBay. Quickly scanning completed auctions says the price is between $45 and $70.
