I have bought an T40 yesterday, and have added an MiniPCI WiFi card.
The type + brand is = Intersil PRISM 802.11G (3890)
I installed it and got an 1802 error. I have downloaded the Linux CD and it fixed the 1802 error (didn't expect anything else from those experts which made it
Windows XP started and the "New hardware found" dialog popped up.
I loaded the drivers, and it installed fine.
But now i get the error "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
I have rebooted several times, but it doesn't help.
Somebody knows what's going on here?
Have tried this: http://www.deltatangobravo.com/archives ... lesscode10 but that also doesn't work.
I can buy an original Intel WiFi card from someone in my neighbourhood, but it costs $61
Edit: I have booted an Ubuntu 7.04 CD that was lying here. I don't understand much of Linux/Ubuntu but i tried the command "lspci" and it recognizes my wireless card. Also the wireless LED indicator is on (can't switch it off with Fn + F5)
lspci information:
02:02.0 Network controller: Intersil Corporation ISL3890 [Prism GT/Prism Duette]/ISL3886 [Prism Javelin/Prism Xbow] (rev 01)
P.S Another question: Is the 1802 reversible? So i can 'uninstall' the patch if i sell my thinkpad ?
