My SXGA+ T40 has a weird issue with video. When I perform certain operations, like dragging windows, or especially playing DVDs, the screen gets sort of garbled or distorted. It's hard to describe. I'd shoot a quick movie, but I don't have it right now.
This happens in both Windows and Linux, so I'm pretty sure it's not the driver.
It's under warranty, and I want it fixed. Anyone know what it could be?

Sounds like a problem with the graphics accelerator to me. In Windows, you can go to Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshoot, and turn acceleration down or off. Give that a try.
You also might have a problem with the solder joints on the graphics chip (a ball grid array chip).
