#1 Post by azmckee » Mon Oct 18, 2004 12:12 pm

Just bought a 600X and was thinkong of buying the Ultraslimbay battery.

Has anyone had any problems with them??

Does the primary battery have to be in in order for the ultraslimbay to charge properly??

Nice purchase. I just recently moved up from my 600X to a T22. The extra battery is great. I really liked mine. No worries on how installed as I recall. Although I always had both batteries in....

I've purchased several. Factory-sealed UltraSlimBay batteries are cheap on eBay. I found some for $24.95 early this year and they work great.

Still take care when swapping them. The 600E/X don't like to have batteries removed by surprise. If you "stop" the 2nd battery, Windows will suspend so you can remove it.

I get about five hours of run time out of two batteries using wireless on my 600X.

Is the 2nd battery option only for the 600x or are other 600 series capable of using it?

The 600E also accepts that battery. Sadly, the plain 600 has no battery connector in its UltraSlimBay and cannot use that battery.

In addition, I have used the machine with just one battery, in order to run PC Doctor's battery rundown test. It charges and discharges just fine with either or both present.

Just like every other account I've seen, the main battery will charge first, then the bay battery. The bay battery discharges first, then the main battery.

On my 600X, when in suspend mode, the battery charges will equalize slowly, as if one charges the other. I don't know if that happens on newer machines.
