R40 Wifi Card Not Detected

#1 Post by bpopilek » Fri Jul 06, 2007 4:55 pm

Hello again! I just got my R40 back up and running with a new MB & CPU. The new problem is it will not detect the Intel wireless PCI card I have installed. The FRU number on my old board was 93P3568, and the new board is a FRU 93P3580. On the original board, I got a error 1802 which I ran the little no-1802 utility and the problem was resolved. On the new motherboard I don't get any errors on boot up, and Windows XP does not detect the PCI card at all. I have tried Fn-F5 and checked the BIOS to make sure something wasn't turned off. Everything seems to be in order, any suggestions? Do I need to run the no-1802 on this one, even though there is no error message? Thanks! :?:

Have you installed the drivers?
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Under the device manager, the only item that is not installed right now is an unknown device, and upon further checking, it is the ACPI device, and I am getting the driver for that right now.

I did run the driver install application for the wireless card, but it did not detect new hardware. I tried having it search for new hardware in the device manager, but nothing was found. It acts like it is not even connected. I have removed the card and re-seated it just in case, but that did not work either.

Am I missing something? BTW, the no_1802 utility did nothing when I tried it.

Is it enabled in the BIOS?
