Always have to press "shut down" twice

Hi,

I always have to press "shut down" (and "restart") twice to make it work on my Z61p. First time, nothing seems to happen, second time I do it the computer shut down immediately. This behaviour started one month ago, two months after that I bought the computer.

Any ideas why?

Welcome to forums.

My guess is that you have many resident programs that don't want to quit..

Try turning off all your anti-virus and other resident programs before you shut down. If that solves the problem. Then try one program eliminating one program at a time.

You also might want to try cleaning the registry and cleaning up your startup programs.
