Losing Scroll Wheel Emulator After Lock or Sleep

This is a really irritating problem that I hope has a fairly easy workaround. Very frequently my T60 mouse driver doesn't recover properly from Sleep or sometimes just Lock. When the computer wakes up, the mouse middle button does nothing.

Any ideas appreciated,

I think that problem went away on mine after updating the power management drivers.
