Removing Bluetooth/Wifi network icon in System Tray

I want to remove the green icon for the wireless adapter and the Bluetooth icon in the system tray. I cannot seem to find a way to do this.

The only way I could remove the BT icon is to remove the shortcut from the startup folder, but this disables the BT module... anyone?
