R51 and BMDC-IV

Ok, I have an R51 with a MDC and the Bluetooth antenna already installed and waiting for a BMDC card to be swapped in it. I've looked at the matrices for the R51 and it only mentions up to the BMDC-3 card as an option. I've been looking around and found a good deal on a BMDC-IV card but will it be compatible? What is the difference between the 3 and IV? If they do the same thing, I don't see why it wouldn't work, unless there was some difference in hardware or maybe bluetooth technology between the two.
