New R61 models released

#1 Post by ryengineer » Wed Jul 11, 2007 11:57 am

Lenovo has released two new members in R61 family, R61e and R61i. Since there wasn't much of a difference left between T and R series so lenovo has introduced them merely for mainstream users.

Noticeable changes are:

1. On R61e customers are offered to choose between Intel GL960 and GM965 chipset.

2. On R61i, lenovo has brought back the option of S-Video.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Also single-core Celeron processors available on the R61e.
X220 (4287-2W5, Windows 8 Pro) / X31 (2672-CXU, XP Pro) / X61s (7668-CTO, Windows 8 Pro)

First of all - hello to the forum.

As I'm greatly interested in purchasing a R61i (NF0AEPB, with C2D T5250, matte WXGA and XPPro) I wanted to make sure:

What is the difference between R61i and R61. I saw at least one model of R61 (not R61i) with S-Video out so the facts don't match.

My main concern is the build quality - are the R61i as good as R61 in this area?

If anyone knows the answers for a fact I'll appreciate the comment - the sooner the better, because after weekend I plan on purchasing.
best regards,
rdg
