First off, update your wireless driver from lenovo website and uninstall Access Connection.
Then check to make sure that your wireless router is secured, seem like your bandwidth is being leeched by someone else.
Now: X60s, T61, X61 Tablet
Past: R40, X41 tablet, T60

Wireless networks are not always simple in Vista. Access connections may complicate things as it fights Vista for control of your wireless connection. If you don't need the features access connections provides you can disable it and see if that helps. If you do need access connections features there are ways to fix it.

Hi guys.... thanks for the quick responses....
Thiings that I just did....

1. Uninstalled Access connection....
2. Updated the wireless driver from lenovo....

Result = Still bad.... very pathetic...

I have a T43 with XP stitting right next to it.... Both are connecting on the wireless.... T43 (XP) takes 2 second to log on to hotmail....
T61 vista is still sitting on a blank page to get to hotmail

At this point... im ready to do anything :(

Any chance you can try to associate with another wireless access point (AP) in your area? While I don't advocate the poaching of someone else's WiFi system, if you can see an open (i.e., unencrypted) AP in your neighborhood, try connecting for a minute. If that's not possible or you don't feel comfortable doing that, does any of your friends have a wireless system you can try, preferably one that is NOT the same AP model as yours.

An R61 (running Vista) I was using a few weeks ago connected fine and transferred data with a Linksys WRT54G at work. At home with a Netgear ME102 it would establish a link with my AP, but could not receive any web pages. I believe that there is a known issue with Vista and some older APs. Visit the home page of the maker of your AP and search their knowledge base.

Thank you so much guys for all your support...
I have been looking around the net and have came accross several posts where people are having "Slowness" issue with their wireless vista machines....
As most of my work is done on wireless connections... and I dont have any control over the rounter's firmwares or most of the times I dont even know which brand of router Im hitting....... I think I have not choice but to do a clean install of XP on the laptop.... This sucks... but I have no choice :(
Thanks guys..

Make sure the power setting for the WLAN card is to "Maximum Performance" in the ThinkVantage Power Manager, Device Manager and Access Connections (if you're using it).

I have checked power settings and set to max transmit.

I have tried tweaking the router and find in b mode it works better than g mode.
