time to let go the T43 ,ordering T61 few questions .....
Ok i think it's time for a new laptop.
i like the 14" WS.
1) Turbo Memory , i understand i can order that later . how much does it cost when buying it separately and where does it go ?
2) what's the difference between Media Card to smart card ?
3) Wireless , are the N worth the extra money ? is it a better card overall ?
4) Battery : does the 4 cells sticks out ? which battery seems to be the overall performance and size weight winner ? i dont want some heavy laptop. if i will get similar time to the 6 cell T43 i will be happy.
5) Vista Premium Vs Home ?
thanks Danny

1) If you mean separately. It seems to be ~$50 for 1 GB
Some bad news about it here http://www.hardmac.com/news/2007-07-02/ and
here http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9584_22-6188522.html
2) They are two different things. Which is of interest to you?
3) At the moment it looks like one can do with N.
4) No. A bigger battery seems to be able to give more play-time
5) The Home edition is different from the Premium in just one point. It lacks Windows Media Player. Take your pick.

yeah separately , funny
1) yeah i heard about the performance that is not there, that is why i'm thinking to get it later if it will get any better.
2) yes i know they are different cards . i just dont have any idea what each one is.
4) i'm just trying to understand which batter gives the best bang for the weight/size
5) media player the only difference ? so what's the problem to download it later ?
thanks Danny

No, its not, by a log chalk. See http://www.microsoft.com/windows/produc ... hoose.mspxdanny_isr wrote:5) media player the only difference ?
Cheers,

media card is for well media cards (Compact flash, SD, Sony MemoryStick, etc) while the other is for smart card which is something you wont need or use. Large companies use smartcard along with fingerprint to get you into the system and network. It's how they log onto private company data. A fingerprint reader is more than enough for anyone in the "normal" world.
Oh and for the battery, i don't have one but the 4 cell with a nvidia card is a no-no.... with integrated i've read that you can get 2hrs+. the 6 Cell sticks out a bit from the back and is of-course couple oz heavier but will give you closer to ~5hrs with integrated or even more. Nvidia of-course is only lik 2hrs. If you don't game then no big deal
get integrated and get battery life!!!
