I am not, and would never, suggest to not use the optional passwords available to you but realize that they may not be as fool proof as you think.
Take a look at all these success stories.
A thief with a room full of brand new stolen HDD would have a field day.

Whats your point?
No password is safe given enough time and resources. Why do you think ATM machines eat your card after the 3rd failed attempt... PIN codes for cellphones... etc.
Does the TP login prompt allow you unlimited number of tries? If so, then you could do it yourself.......
With regards to the site you mention, you have to build the device, then mail the guy a file, he then checks it, tells you its a good file, you pay him and he sends you password... I would suspect that he wouldn't do that if you send him your 2-3-4-5-20th password file...
