Problem with memory driver on X61 7675-7KU still not resolve

#1 Post by geronimo13 » Mon Jul 16, 2007 3:09 pm

Hi!

I can´t install the audio on my new thinkpad. It came with vista buisness but i installed win xp pro on it. I did as the help file suggested with installing xp pro.

Now when i try to install the audio it says "buss driver for HD Audio is required and wasnt found on this computer"

Ive installed all drivers on the lenovo.com site. Also ran system update but that one didnt suggest any updates at all.

I also get error on "pci device" and "pci-memorycontroller" in the system mangare, cant find those drivers either.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Had the same problem. Try installing KB888111 which Lenovo has on their site as part of a bunch of XP updates. Also, make sure you have the Intel chipset drivers installed properly.

(Interestingly, the modem on my X61 also requires the HDA bus driver to even be recognized).

Thank you fixed the audio problem. Still have the pci-memory thing uninstalled, any thoughts about that?

How do i check if intel chipset is installed properly?

If the audio is working, then the chipset is most likely installed too.

Can you tell what the device and vendor IDs for the unknown devices are? The X61 has a lot of devices, so it's hard to just guess... Offhand, there are a number related to power management, particularly ACPI.

Its located at

PCI-buss 2, unit 0, function 0

The ID is

I believe that's the Turbo memory controller. XP doesn't support Turbo memory, so there's no XP driver for it. It should be harmless though.

Perhaps in the BIOS? My X61 lacks Turbo Memory, so I can't check here...
