Device Manager issue

#1 Post by jobber » Mon Jul 16, 2007 11:10 pm

Just did a fresh XP install. Was way more simple than all that stuff posted around here. Course I already had a XP SP2 slimstream CD, maybe thats why.

The only thing I had to do was change SATA to compat mode in bios. Then the XP install found my disk perfectly. I simply deleted the extra partition during install and then did a freshie on my entire disk.

I have downloaded every single driver I could find, and installed them. I only have one more device left with a question mark.

PCI device

I have tried both the modem driver and bluetooth driver and I just cant get this device to take any driver. I can't figure out what I'm missing.

Details:

PCI bus 0, device 27, function 0

The answer:

It was my modem.

and the modem wouldnt be seen until I had added those High Definition Bus audio drivers. After that, the system then found a modem. I was then able to point it to my modem driver folder successfully.

I have one more issue I'll work out:

Atmel TPM has a exclamation mark on it.

I had this issue too, that the Atmel TPM had an exclamation mark against it - but I deleted it (as it appeared twice) and it hasnt come back. I still have one instance of this driver listed, so assume it is all ok?
