System Update error - The Package Index server is ...

I am getting this error on my T60 when I run System Update 3.01.001 :

"The Package Index server is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later"

I have reinstalled the program and tried running it many times and everytime I get this same error.

Has anyone else encountered this error ? I have searched the web but could not find any solution .

I was surfing the Lenovo support site and found this page which says Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 or later is required for ThinkVantage System Update to work properly, and indicated I do not have the .NET framework installed.

I followed the instruction to install the .NET framework and viola ! System Update is working again !
