uninstalling CSS

#1 Post by lponz7 » Tue Jul 17, 2007 6:49 am

Are there any known ill effects to uninstalling client security solution from add/remove programs?

I sort of ask this after the fact, as I have already done so. The only issue I've noticed is longer boot times. Could there be some remnants of the program left in the registry that try to launch at startup, thus causing this delay? I'm running Vista Home Premium.

Interested to hear others' experience. Many thanks. lponz7

I find the messages annoying. I hope you get some responses (I'd like to remove it too). Running XP.

Seems unusual it would take more time to boot.

I just uninstalled CSS 7 from my R60. I continued to get a message when Windows (XP Pro) opened which was headed CSS complaining that a service was missing. This was after I had run RegVac to clean out all the dross. I ran a search for CSS on C:\ and found a whole Lenovo directory full of programme remnants, Just deleted the lot and the service message has now disappeared. Can't say I've noticed a slower boot-up though.
