As others have suggested, I would also recommend the Elecom Zeroshock III sleeve.
I use the 11" version which fits my X61/4-cell enhanced battery snuggly. It offers great protection and the zipper compartment is very handy for i.e. my travel documents. By far my favorite sleeve.
I also have a Booq Vyper XXS which also fits the 4-cell battery quite well. It is definitely very stylish and professional looking. It however does not even come close to offering the same level of protection as the Zeroshock sleeve and its polyurethane foam. Although the Vyper XXS is the best looking sleeve I have, I find the internal padding too hard and thin to offer the kind of protection I prefer.
Last but not least, for my 8-cell battery I use a polyurethane foam type sleeve which came with my X61. Even if it comes with a red ThinkPad type dot on the zipper and an IBM brand in front, I think it is a locally made (Thailand) copy type product. It is remarkably well made though. Maybe Lenovo could get some inspiration from it

Can you describe a little bit more about the cushioning of the zeroshock? Is it a soft, low density foam or a harder high density memory type of foam? I'm considering getting this for my X31.
I have a sumdex impactguard for my T21 and it uses a high density memory foam.

After RedGreen's posts I jumped on the Water Field/sfbags.com sleeve with flap, loops, and strap. Gary's email noted they adjusted the fit (and it fits great) and he even upgraded shipping. The bag is very well made and well padded. Awesome product.
For the fellas: with the strap it's totally a man purse. I'm sure for bigger laptops it looks cool. As a sleeve it is great. I kind of wish I didn't order the flap. But really, dude: man purse. Be prepared for noise from your buddies if you plan to use it with the strap.

X61 Tablet with 8 cell here, this bag fits like a glove, as if the bag was created just for this laptop:

Thanks for the pictures. After seeing your laptop/bag I will be ordering the same bag. Since my writing skills are poor I have asked the same question twice to see if you can understand what I am looking for...
A.
if worn on your shoulder with strap and the laptop/bag at your side can you have the flap open to see the laptop comfortablly??
B.
With the flap, open and wrapped around other side so the laptop is visable, is the flap flat, or is it bulky and in the way??
Thanks for you input!
A.
The loops get in the way, so I must force the flap up or angle the case.
B.
The flap sticks out.
When you provide the model information on their form, they apparently custom fit, though (they did with my x61s with 8 cell battery, without any other communication by me). I would shoot them an email about a smaller flap, or order without the flap.
---
Can anyone provide more experience with the Piggyback? Like, say an 8 cell battery and the 65w adapter were in there. Could I stick in, say, a pocket book? Does the 8 cell battery even fit? Thanks.

X61 with 8-cell fits in 12" Zeroshock
I also confirm that my X61 with 8-cell fits perfectly with the 12" ZeroShock. By the way, if you have a different configuration, email Shinza and they will reply within 30min (in my case).

Tumi medium size zipper sleeve
Brought a Tumi medium size Zippered sleeve from an Tumi Outlet (woodbury commons NY). Would highly recomend, fits perfect.
Looks so good can use just to carry tablet by it self or insert to most briefcases
After disc approx $42.$$

lightweiht was heard to say:
1. I like the flap because it protects the laptop when it is raining; and 2. Yes, I have noticed the similarity to a purse - don't care. I did not like the strap -- just seemed too much for such a small bag. I bought a carrying handle from Lenovo designed for a different case. They sell just the handle without requiring a purchase of the bag. With the handle, carrying the bag is like carrying a small briefcase. The only downside is that the handle is a tad short so that I must unconnect the handle on one side in order to remove the laptop. The plus side is that the laptop can not fall out even if the flap would open, unlikely.
I agree. I have the Waterfield fit for my x60s with 8 cell. I have used it hard for a year and the bag looks like new - no loose threads. After RedGreen's posts I jumped on the Water Field/sfbags.com sleeve with flap, loops, and strap.... The bag is very well made and well padded. Awesome product.

im not sure about flaps and all that man purse stuff but so far I rather like the ZeroShock Case (not sleeve), comes with handle so i don't use the manpurse strap. Should hold my simdrive as well as power adapter, and mouse. The memory foam type stuff is kinda cool. Guess time will tell in the ned, but since the case is zipped I guess it would protect from rain as well...
I have realized I'm being too picky on fits like a glove (with 8 cell). If it was any smaller it would be a tight fit.

Some alternatives I found:
Laptop Sleeve Neoprene Material, Fits up to 12.5" Notebook
http://www.meritline.com/laptop-sleeve- ... l-306.html
Normally $13.70, but I got it for only $6.85 (and free shipping) with a discount code floating around (seems this is a common offers of theirs).
Office Depot Brand Project Case, Clear
http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/4 ... ase-Clear/
A nice clear plastic case that would hold an X61x nicely, especially if it was protected by the above sleeve. In the store it is with their storage plastic boxes. Only $7.49

Judging by the diamentions on both cases, don't think a x61t with 8 cell will fit 10.75 x 10.5 ??Flashman wrote:Some alternatives I found:

tilneford,
Cool. This handle? Think the end is wide enough to allow the piggyback along with the sleevecase? Thanks.

I just got the same case for my X61 Tablet with 8 cell. It works PERFECTLY.....Justintoxicated wrote:Just an update, the Zero Shock Case for 12" Notebooks.
My USB Slim DVD drive fits nicely inside one pocket, and the other has enough space for the power adapter, cables and mouse. I'm quite happy now that I have everything I will be needing

Strange, I got the exact pair (X61 tablet 8 Cell and ZeroShock case 12in. It does not want to fit no matter how hard I stuff it in. Can you post a picture to make sure I know what direction to stuff it in. Thank.sregreb wrote:I just got the same case for my X61 Tablet with 8 cell. I just picked up the skooba advanced protection case, size small. Nice, extremely light weight, design is like a waterfield sleeve with flap, and comes with an interesting bottom cushion to protect it when you set the case down. Fits the x60 tablet perfectly with 8 cell and without the bottom cushion, looks like it can fit the 4 cell with cushion. The interior is a nylon mesh, not the best in my opinion, but it seems pretty well built. They are on sale at ebags for $18.89, plus s/h, but you can use fw and amex tm to get an additional 8% +10% off. Id recommend this bag expecially for an non tablet X6x 4 cell, with one of those thin $5 laptop sleeves. And it comes in all black too!

Any other good sleeve for X41/60/61 Tablet with 8-cell, besides the WaterField 23-21?
A lot of different sleeve cases have been discussed in this topic and have been brought up in many other topics (I know when I was deciding on my bag, I wound many topics).loyukfai wrote:Any other good sleeve for X41/60/61 Tablet with 8-cell, besides the WaterField 23-21?

one problem and HUGE source of confusion in all the old threads, is the mixup between "Case"/"Bag" and "Sleeve" for the Shinza Zeroshock III.
Apparently there are 11"/12" versions for both the "case" and "sleeve" of the Zeroshock III.
Alot of people say that the 12" fits the X61T with 8-cell "very snugly", but later they point out that it is for the bag version.
I still also read a person (in one of the threads you linked) who bought the 12" Zeroshock III *sleeve* and it didn't fit his X61T with 8-cell.
But alot of others out there claim that it fits the 12" sleeve (with 8-cell).
It is really quite quite confusing.
I have also contacted Shinza to cancel my order since I cannot ascertain what will actually fit my X61t with 8-cell o_O"""
Another point of confusion is that the X61T is *bigger* than the X61. So even if the X61 with 8-cell fits the 12" Zeroshock *sleeve*, the X61T still might not fit.
