#1 Post by cmarti » Wed Jul 18, 2007 8:48 am

Last time i used my Z60t was one week ago, i had to go on a bussiness trip left it unplugged and off in the table and next thing i know is that yesterday i tried to turn it on and nothing!

The laptop is dead if i connect the charger no lights no nothing not a sound it's completely dead.

Any Ideas? It was working perfectly when i left it and i live alone so there is no possiblity that anyone might has done anything to the poor lappy. :x

well, that sounds VERY bad. But before you will dig the grave (or call service) you can try:

- remove battery and start it from AC power only

- remove AC power and start it from battery power only

- try to start that without some peripheral devices, like printer or even UltraBay device

- try to measure current going from powered AC adapter by multimeter

Were your laptop connected to AC all that time? Maybe overcurrent can harm MB or (if you are lucky) AC adapter...

keep us updated

EDIT: ah i see, unplugged on the desk. So no overvoltage from AC possible. Try to run it w/o main battery in case of battery totall drain and lockout.

Sounds like your AC adapter is bad. Can you beg or borrow another AC adapter to see if it works? Or try a volt meter and see if you can get around 20 volts as a reading?

Good luck.

I got three chargers and they all work in the X60 so it's not the adapter, i will try to follow all the suggestions later tonight.

Thanks.

Update!

The Z60t is working again, i don't know what happened but i package it and sent it to Orlando because i am moving to Florida and when i unpackage it guess what it is working now without any problems, strange not? I dont really have an idea of what happened.

I have been testing it for three days at work and at home and it seems to be working alright. :D
