I thin it's more a function of time rather than the number of posts.

Also, when you are on the reply screen, to the left are the emoticons, under them it says View More Emoticons; click that and another screen will open and that bouncy thing is in there.

We have several people who are old friends of Bill or that have provided exceptional service to the community (or both) that hold the Special Member or **SENIOR** Member designations. They're not based on a post count.

And remember, it's quality, not quantity, that is really meaningful.

I think you're overlooking the banner....

A little bit to the right, in the middle, below the thinkpads.com banner.

On a side note, Bill does not need any special "cool" thing, he likes parrots and i'm sure he is more than happy with his bird and other members with feathers around this forum...

I have to admit. Sulphur Crested Cockatoo is quite something. Looks much better than those regular orange parrots.

I quite agree.

I have been a member of various forums over the years (modded some, co-SysOp'd BBS back in the day too). Some come and some go. However this forum is special. The feeling of community here is very strong.

Other than supplying the occassional part and .ISO of restore discs to people as well as my own (meager) technical knowledge of the t4x line I still **want** to contribute more because it is something I enjoy doing.

This is the only forum that I check multiple times a day. One thing that I really love is seeing the posts from new members who come by to ask a question or two, then realizing that it is now 6 months later and they are established members of our little community.

It's almost but not quite unlike the feelings I used to have back in the BBS days. Hard to describe, but I think that most of us who have been here a while (and some far longer!) feel the same way as well.

And with that I have no choice but to summon the bouncing bird whose purpose is as yet unknown to me....

I know what you mean, Ray - the sound that flocks of them make in trees in town is indeed amazingly loud, but I'm more partial in terms of seeing a few in a shrub outside my house every so often...very nice photographic subjects

Plus they have more colours than the Cockatoo
