hi there,
this is an idea from mac world, which i think its brilliant: you can share the net wich comes into the lan and it is shared through the wifi, making the mac actually a router.
how this can be done in windows (xp) ? i tried sharing conection wizard(destroies all the ips), network bridge, still no result!
any ideas will be more than appreciated!
thanks,
dorin

Cnet just did a video explaining how you can make your laptop a temporary hot spot sharing an Ethernet internet connection. Of course this also works if you want to transfer files. This shows how to do this on Windows Vista, Mac OSX, and Windows XP.

umm isn't that just like turning on "Ad-Hoc" mode on your wifi? There's infrastructure mode that we all use to connect to hotspots and home/work wifi but then there's Ad-Hoc which you can setup a lil personal network with up to 255 of your friends
To make it so that your laptop is the host for all the others all you have to do is plug in the cable into the LAN port then enable sharing on the connection. Then all the people connected to your Ad-Hoc network can access the net via your plugged in connection
(good for hotel rooms if there's only 1 port and no WiFi)
