Will Lenovo repair laptops bought today 5.5 years from now?

#1 Post by wearetheborg » Thu Jul 19, 2007 8:47 pm

I'm thinking of buying a thinkpad, and getting their 5 year warranty on it.
Using a credit card, I'd get an extra year free, making it 6 years, PROVIDED lenovo can still make repairs in the 6th year.

So is there a timepoint when lenovo says the laptop is too old and not serviceable ?

Note from Moderator: Unlocked and moved back to original conference after discussion with OP about more general nature of question. Not a duplicate.

You know that extra year isn't provided by Lenovo but by your credit card from 3rd party warranty carrier.

When it breaks they will try to repair it via 3rd party then failing that give you a replacement of the same value.
