TP 600x battery charging problem

#1 Post by glenn778 » Thu Jul 19, 2007 9:25 pm

I have a 600x 2645-9fu. It will not charge a battery. I have tried to use different used batteries known to charge in other 600xs. This one has me baffled. Anyone run into this before?

With the laptop plugged in and the battery removed do you get 4.5 volts on the two center battery posts on the laptop?

If any of the posts are loose they can be resoldered by removing the palm rest/keyboard, CPU and fan. Move the modem cable to the side and that gives you plenty of room to do the job.

There is a Pico fuse under the motherboard next to the posts for the battery but I have not seen one fail yet.

Hope that gives you some options to check.

Good luck.
