Infrared and Linux ..

On the way to install a GNU/Linux (if not Debian, it woul be a light Ubuntu) on an old 365XD, I wanted to know if someone around here has already set up and used successfully the Infrared device on their Thinkpad, or igf anyone can provide a link about it.

My intended use (of the IR device) is to send data to an IR-enabled device such as a mobile phone, etc ..
