T42 freezes on boot screen

#1 Post by dansu » Sun Jul 22, 2007 5:31 pm

I have an external USB hdd connected. When booting up, it freezes on the Thinkpad screen. The one that says "press the access IBM button to... blah blah blah" It seems to stay at that screen forever until I unplug or turn off the USB drive. 2 seconds after doing that, it continues onto booting up the OS.

I thought it might have been BIOS looking through the HDD for an OS but I took USB HDD off the boot list and it still freezes.
