T61 14" 4:3 question

#1 Post by danny_isr » Sun Jul 22, 2007 10:11 pm

i saw on the tabook that there are models like that (14" 4:3)

my questions are:

1) are they available ?

2) 6 Cells battery sticks out on them. or is it like my T43 ?

3) what about the cooling is it as good as the T61WS ?

thanks Danny

They're available at least in Europe if we rely on lenovo website (see there) and search for UI03FFR (t61p) or UI02YFR (t61) for example.

But there are only 14" 4:3 with discrete graphics, no intel cards.

1. I just ordered one via that odd link floating around these boards. Am fed up waiting to see if they'll ever become "officially" available to consumers.

2. I believe the 6-cell battery sits flush with the case like the T43.

3. No idea but I hope so. They have the same rollcage design so I'm assuming the same fan design, too. WOuld like to hear from any present owners, however.

Someone managed to get Lenovo to acknowledge the existence of the tabook models (8889) but was told they are not customizeable. Other rumors have suggested they'll become more widely available by the end of this month.

Basically a bunch of mixed messages and no definitive answer, which is why I went ahead with the stealth CTO.
