Does the standard depot warranty from Lenovo for a laptop bought in the US hold worldwide ?

It depends whether the model is eligible for international warranty. You can check on this page using your model number:

If the model is eligible there is no extra charge right ?

Correct. If you are IWS-eligible, it's included with the product, not an option.
