#1 Post by spune » Mon Jul 23, 2007 7:43 pm

I bought a used T40 ThinkPad but the PCMCIA slot cover is missing. Where can I purchase a replacement?

According to the Hardware Maintenance Manual for the T4x systems, the PC Card cover (with spacer and spring) is contained in a couple of different P/N kits depending upon the exact model you have. You could try ordering it from Lenovo (don't know if it's really possible), search eBay for somebody parting out a T40 or post a "wanted" here in the Marketplace conference.

Would something like this work? I'm not sure if the flaps are attached to the chasis or the PCMCIA drive.

I believe that the PCMCIA door is attached to the base of the T40 and not part of the PCMCIA slot assembly.

Shoot, I think the slot hinge is busted then, or else why would it be gone? (Ebay laptop)
