Recently acquired T40

Hi there,

I just got a non-working T40 (2373-3CM) for a good price that I have fixed up and is now working happily. I'm trying to decide whether to keep it and sell my R40, or just sell it and make a few bucks. However, it doesn't have its restore partition installed since the previous owner disabled it.

I would like to put it back on. Is there anyone who has a copy of it anywhere that would be able to mail it to me?

I installed the restore partition from my R40 onto it and it installed Windows XP quite happily with no problems (the hardware is pretty much identical apart from my R40 being bigger and heavier) but there are a few discrepancies, such as the Access IBM manual showing the wrong computer

I have the equipment to be able to restore the T40 HPA from an image on DVD (have done this many times on many R40s I have worked with), so that might make things easier.

If you post a wanted ad in the marketplace area for a set of product recovery discs I am very certain that one of our community members can help your for a price far cheaper than the $45ish that IBM/Lenovo asks for the discs.

They will set your machine back to a factory image and recreate the HPA for you as well.
