Parts replaced/upgraded within the last month or so -

Hitachi 7K100 - 100GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive - new
1.8GB Dothan CPU Part# SL7EN - used
Infineon 512MB PC2700 SODIMM memory - new
9-Cell Battery with 15 cycles (99% capacity) - new condition
Keyboard (NMB) - under warranty - new
Palm Rest - under warranty - new
LCD - under warranty - new
LCD cable - under warranty - new
Inverter - under warranty - new
Atheros b/g MPCI Wireless Card - new
Bluetooth/Modem Daughter Card - new
IBM ThinkPad T41 Indicator LED (Clear) Plate with Bluetooth - new

The machine looks and runs like new (cool and quiet). I have personally tested every aspect of this laptop for a few weeks and it runs 100%. It has onsite warranty until 10/05/07, which can be extended. It was a lot of work, but fun rebuilding it. Now it's time for a new project

With all those new parts, that's like a brand-new high-end T41!

I picked-up a T40 today, and it's a gem. The keyboard and the entire feel is to die for. Mine doesn't have those kind of specs, but it made me appreciate how fine these thinkpads can be!

This T41 would be a fine one to showcase! Spec'd out like that it'll easily handle vista & aero too, which might be an interesting "eclectic" mix to show-off!

I've dealt with Harryc on several occasions, and everything I've gotten from him was above expectations condition-wise. If he says that this laptop is mint, one could probably sell it as brand new, the only thing missing would be a sealed box.

For those amongst us who don't trade often, but buy to keep and use to the maximum of their knowledge and machine's ability, I'll say just one thing: jump on this one-it's coming from a zillion percent trustworthy ThinkPadder who knows his stuff...

Best of luck with the sale, Harry, although this machine should sell itself in no time.

Bump - Price drop to $775 for the entire package, $513 for the ala carte package (shipping extra). This price will not be going down again. If it doesn't sell at this price, I'll just keep it, and be happy to do so.

Had some issues with the bank but sorted out.

My bank charged Aud$28 to transfer and Harry's bank charge USD$25 to receive, what a RIP Off . Banks are really #!$#@%

Anyway, Harry was a great help. I paid the remaining and hopefully will received the laptop soon.
