Does FRU matter? (Atheros Mini-PCI Express)

#1 Post by FRiC » Thu Jul 26, 2007 2:44 am

I've been looking to swap my Intel card for an Atheros card for quite a while, and finally I found someone selling them relatively locally. However, the cards he sell are FRU 41W1073, and a search turns them up as a Korean part for X60's. They are not listed in T60's hardware manual.

I know that my country has a special part since 802.11a is banned in my country, what about all the other FRU's?

Does anyone know if the different FRU's work differently, if they all use the same drivers?

The drivers are not FRU-specific. You could use a non-Thai card as long as you are willing to use a card that includes 802.11a (which you can turn off anyway).
