Wish I was a more patient person

I ordered my T42 on 10/6 and it's not scheduled to ship until 11/15. I thought I'd have no problem being patient but I'm getting a little antsy waiting. How long have you waited for your Thinkpad to be shipped from IBM direct?

There's a shortage of T series thinkpads right now. Be patient. Of course you could ask them just to rush the assembly of your computer, mabe cut some corners here and there, throw in some marginal parts, etc. That might speed things up

Thats just another reason I buy on ebay, most of the time they are in stock. It kills me two wait a week when I had to send my Dell out for service.

Funny,
I ordered mine last Thursday and I got it on Tuesday. It came all the way from HK!!!!

But just be patient. The longer you wait happier you will be when you reeive it..

I'm in the same boat. I ordered a 2379R9U on 10/12 and I've watched the delivery time slip. But that's my luck.. I ordered a car, it took 3 months to get here... When it arrived in Port Hueneme, it was crushed by the tractor-trailer

. I had to wait another 3 months.. My townhome was to be completed in October, it was finished in December

So I just laugh.. Oh when the stuff does arrive, it's in A1 shape.

In the past, Thinkpads I've ordered have shipped within 7 days, but based on the web site there seems to be a run on the 15" Flexview models right now. I ordered one on Oct. 10 and watched the ship-by date change almost daily from Nov. 10 to Nov 22.

A sales rep told me not to pay attention to the Web site, though. IBM is doing updates, he said, that are screwing up the ship-by dates. There's a 10 to 15 day wait on the model I ordered, so it should ship by the end of this month, he said.

Hopefully he's right.

Of course I'm going to keep waiting. I'm just impatient is all, I hope it's worth the wait!

Same here rocketman. I've anxiously been waiting for the status to change to "Shipped"! The only thing that keeps changing is the date. Oh well, we got our T42s at a great price so I can wait a bit longer.

I am the same. I ordered my TP on 10/05/04 also. It is BIOMATRIC version. It seems that my shipped date gets changed every day. Well... it seems that we will have to wait.......
