Dual boot / clean install questions. what about the tools?

Hi all. I am new to the forums. I searched for the solution to my specific problem and I found very few answers. I just got a T60 with Vista Business on it. I have a subscription to the digital locker for the Anytime Upgrade from Business to Ultimate. When I did that upgrade, it made most of the tools fail to work. The main one that stopped was the ability to press the ThinkVantage button while it boots to go into the recovery console. My questions are:

1. If I were to do a clean install of Vista or XP with the discs I already have (full retail discs), is there a way for me to get all my tools working? (including the recovery console thing)

2. Is there a way for me to dual boot XP and Vista while keeping all the tools?

I do know how to setup a dual boot and all that stuff, I just need to know if its possible to reload the features. Thanks a lot for the help.Amit.
